The Shenandoah Community Capital Fund (SCCF) is accepting applications for the next cohort of Startup Shenandoah Valley (S2V).

The Shenandoah Community Capital Fund (SCCF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit entrepreneurial support organization serving the entire Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, as the region’s online accelerator program for scalable businesses.

According to the Winchester Star, the SCCF aims to empower Businesses ready for rapid, iterative development at every level and encourages businesses from various industries and sectors, ranging from software development, agriculture, and agriculture, manufacturing, technology, professional services, as well as those businesses looking to create salaried jobs in the region to apply for the next S2V.

Companies selected for S2V will be given access to resources and have assigned them, mentors and investors, even outside the region.

What is the S2V About?

“The S2V program is about connecting businesses that are ready to grow with coaches, investors, and a network that can help them get to the next stage of their business,” said Katie Overfield-Zook, Head of the S2V Program.

“The program is open to entrepreneurs in any industry who are committed to growing their business,” said Overfield-Zook. “Of particular importance is that our cohort represents the diversity of talent we have in this region, so we encourage entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities, such as women, students, Black entrepreneurs, and others, to apply.

Businesses chosen will go through an eight-week coaching program beginning on March 6, 2023.

These businesses will be assigned coaches and mentors who will draw from their bank of experience to guide them through drawing out a plan that will ensure the optimum entrepreneurship-led impact and work-life balance.

Participants will also have access to Builder 10, and Clifton Strengths Talent Assessments in the course of their group assignments work and individual sessions.

“The program is open to entrepreneurs in any industry who are committed to growing their business,” said Overfield-Zook. “Of particular importance is that our cohort represents the diversity of talent we have in this region, so we encourage entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities, such as women, students, Black entrepreneurs, and others, to apply.”

The program and coursework are being offered for $1000, a subsidy on the industry average of $3,000. The SCCF also offers various financial solutions for those who have difficulty paying the said sum.

Individuals interested in the program must fill out an application form to be included in the interview process.
