Earnest, a fintech company, is offering ten $5,000 scholarships to ten recipients.
The scholarship can be accessed by any U.S College student, residents under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) scheme, and Black Americans.
A Step Forward
In an exclusive with Black Enterprise, Earnest CEO David Green intimated that this is yet another step forward in their goal to support the community.
Since 2019, the company reports that it has awarded up to $875,000 through its Earnest Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship can be used to pay the recipient’s educational expenses at the school they are enrolled in, including application fees, course credit hour fees, books, computers, and school supplies.
This scholarship aims at helping students irrespective of background, as the program has no GPA, residency, or demographic requirements. “Earnest is on a mission to make higher education accessible and affordable for everyone,” Green says.
The deadline for submission of applications is Jan. 31, 2023, with winners to be notified by mail in February.
